Why We Say No to Dematting (And Why Your Dog Will Thank Us)
You might see “dematting” on other groomers’ menus. You won’t see it on ours.
We have a strict “Humanity Over Vanity” policy. Dematting is the process of manually brushing out tight, solid knots of fur. It is painful. It pulls on the dog’s skin, causing bruising, irritation, and severe stress. In extreme cases, it can tear the skin.
We refuse to hurt a dog for the sake of a fluffy haircut. If a dog is severely matted, the kindest and safest option is to shave the matting out. This gives the skin a chance to breathe and heal. It allows the hair to grow back healthy and strong.
If your dog is matted, we will discuss the “shave down” option with you before we begin. We prioritize your dog’s comfort and safety above all else.

Always great customer service and excellent care for my pup. They'd call me to discuss my dog's trim if she gets too matted, which I always appreciate that they don't just chop her fur off. I also like the points system, which saves me money.

I will 1000,000,000,000.00 PERCENT return to DogTown for future spa days for my puppy and perhaps puppy camp when the need arises. My most favorite part about being introduced to DogTown was when I walked in. No less than 10 big, small, skinny, bigger-boned (as we over 100-pound-girls refer to ourselves,) long hair, short hair, lots of hair, no hair, big huge smiles of dogs all popped up from behind the counter to welcome me and the love-of-my-life, my 18-month-year-old puppy, LucyBelle. That greeting changed what started out as a very NOT-GOOD day into one in which I laughed out loud, like some crazy lunatic, on the my way back to the car. The second part of visiting DogTown that ensured I will be a repeat visitor was the groomer. She greeted me less than 5 minutes after I walked in. She answered my questions and without a hint of trying to upsell me, answered every question I had, in detail, about services I read advertised on their huge blackboard. When she noticed LucyBelle was a little nervous, she immediately got down, meeting her eye to eye, plied her with compliments, which LucyBelle loves (she really is a real little girl wearing dog ears and paws without thumbs-with frustrates both of us) and picked her up for snuggles and kisses. Now that’s the way to not only my trust and confidence, but to my heart. And darn-it shoot me between my toes for not being able to call to mind this very instant that groomer’s name. But if you’re reading this, ask at the front desk who was LucyBelle’s spa specialist at 11 am Tuesday, July 5.

July 25, 2022Love this place!!! I've only gone for grooming (three times now!) and they've done an excellent job every time. My puppy is A LOT to handle, but they manage to get the job done. They ask a lot of questions to make sure the haircut is exactly what you like. The cut also includes nail cut, anal glands, and perfume. And the first time you go it's half off at $35! They also offer a rewards program. The staff is amazing, the dogs all seem happy, and the location looks great. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a new groomer!

We recommend grooming every 4 to 6 weeks. Regular visits prevent painful matting and keep the coat healthy. Waiting longer than 8 weeks often makes the coat too dirty or tangled to maintain easily.
Yes, booking in advance ensures your spot. While we try to accommodate walk-ins, our schedule fills up quickly. You can easily book online or call us to reserve a time that works for you.
For grooming guests who also want to use daycare, we need proof of DAPP/Distemper, Bordetella, and Rabies. If you are only coming for a quick groom without daycare, requirements may vary, so please ask.
Most sessions take between 2 to 3 hours. This varies based on your dog’s size and coat condition. We will call you immediately when your pup is ready for pickup, or they can play in daycare.
We assess every dog individually. Our cage-free environment helps anxious dogs relax. However, for safety, we require that guests have no history of aggression or biting people. We conduct a temperament test to be sure.
Absolutely. If you bring vaccination proof, your dog can enjoy daycare for just $27.50 while they wait. It is a great way to burn off energy before or after their spa treatment.
