How old before puppy can go to daycare?

We suggest puppies start daycare between 12-16 weeks. Daycare at this young age will give them a strong start to well-balanced socialization. If you’re near a Miami dog hotel, consider their facilities for a supportive environment.

For puppies under 6 months, we need proof that they’re on the puppy shot schedule. We also do not require them to be spayed or neutered. However, by 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed or neutered to go into our daycare or hotel program. We understand that some professionals recommend waiting until 12 months to spay or neuter; however, most dogs “mature” at around the 6th-month mark, and due to our free-roaming nature, this is the safest cut-off age for our guests to be able to socialize safely.

Do I need to provide vaccination records?

Hotel and daycare furrguests need to provide proof of the following vaccinations prior to their stay:

  • DAPP/Distemper
  • Bordetella
  • Rabies

In addition, all dogs over 6 months must be spayed or neutered. You can request that your vet directly emails us proof to woof@barkfetchrun.com, bring in the documentation, or we can call and verify over the phone.

We do not require proof of vaccinations for grooming only.

What should I bring for the hotel stay?

Do not bring any leashes, bowls, toys, treats, beds, blankets, etc. for your pup’s stay with us. Your dog will have a clean, comfortable designer bed, luxury dog bowls, and toys provided for them. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

Please do not bring an entire bag of dog food; instead, measure out how much food your dog should consume during their stay at Dogtown (add several more scoops just in case) and place it in a quart-size plastic kitchen storage bag. You can bring multiple bags. Make sure to write your dog’s name on the bag, feeding instructions, and the brand and kind of food.

How much does it cost to groom a dog?

Although we are unable to give an exact price without first seeing your dog in-person, there are ranges you can use to determine what the cost would be for your dog. Our full grooming services start at $45 for a short-haired small dog like a Chihuahua. The price can go up to $120 for a full body cut on a Labradoodle. Below are some estimates to help you better understand our pricing:

  • $75-85 Short Haired Chihuahuas, Short Haired Dachshunds, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers
  • $85-90 Shih-Tzus, Yorkshire Terriers (Yorkies), Maltese, Labradors, King Charles Cavalier Spaniels, large breeds with short hair such as Weimaraner, Doberman
  • $90-105: Pomeranians, Mini Poodles, Golden Retrievers, Mini Poodle Hybrids (Cockapoo, Cavapoo, Maltipoo, Mini Labradoodles, Mini Goldendoodles)
  • $120-160: Basic cuts on Standard Poodles, Labradoodles, Goldendoodles, Wheaten Terriers
  • $175+: Rarely does the groom price pass the $200 mark, but those that do are large breeds with extensive cuts or special circumstances.

Can dogs be left alone overnight?

Yes. Dogs, like humans, are not nocturnal and simply rest at night. Healthy dogs can be left unattended while they rest.

At our facility, dogs go into their individual suites, and after a long day of play, they sleep soundly through the night.

What are the requirements for daycare & hotel furrguests?

Dogtown guests must meet the following criteria:

  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Current on all vaccinations (proof required)
  • On flea/tick and heartworm (anti-parasitic) medications
  • No history of aggression, biting, and/or attacking people or other animals
  • Not destructive
  • Does not excessively bark
  • Currently healthy
  • Not overly dominant or possessive/aggressive with food and/or toys
  • Overall awesome

We will conduct a brief temperament test when you come in with Fido just to confirm the above requirements.

How much does a dog hotel cost?

We have two pricing tiers, peak season and non-peak season. Siblings sharing a suite get a reduced price. To see a full list of our pricing, visit our dog hotels near me page and choose your location.

Do you tip groomers?

Yes. Tipping in the U.S. for consumer services is customary. However, based on your location, the amount you tip varies. In large cities like Miami, NY, L.A., or Chicago, a tip for amazing service is 20-22%. In suburban areas surrounding major cities, it would be 18%, and in more rural areas, it would be 15%.

How long does grooming take?

The time it takes to groom a dog can vary greatly based on its size, grooming tolerance, and the work required. We generally say to expect it to take 2-3 hours, however, we will call you as soon as they’re ready for pick-up.

Additionally, you can have your dog play in our daycare prior to their groom.

How much is a dog wash?

A dog wash service usually costs less than a full professional dog groom. Our dog wash events, such as Wash Me Wednesday and Sudsy Sunday, are bath-only specials with no brushing or hair cutting, but they do include teeth brushing. Can I tour the facility?

For the safety and comfort of our furrguests and clients, non-employees are not allowed beyond the retail area. You can view the entire facility through a window in our retail area.

What does boarding a dog mean?

Dog boarding means a place your dog stays overnight. Some places also refer to it as a dog hotel, dog kennel, or dog resort. People typically choose to board their dogs when they travel. A facility describing itself as a boarding facility can be a traditional kennel/run-style place or a more modern free-roaming hotel.

We offer dog boarding services but describe our facilities as dog hotels. We have modern, free-roaming open spaces where dogs co-mingle and go for outdoor walks. Additionally, we do not have cages or runs, but large open-air “doggie” stables.

What is the cost of dog daycare?

You can pay by the day or purchase 10, 30, and 60-day passes or monthly unlimited plans. We have a package and price point for every need and budget. For more information on our pricing, visit our dog daycare page.

How much is dog boarding for a month?

We do not offer volume discounts. We do, however, honor non-peak pricing for any reservations over 30 days. If you book 30 days over a peak period, the price is the non-peak price.

What are your drop-off and pick-up hours?

Dogs can be picked up and dropped off during our regular hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 7:30 am – 7:30 pm
  • Saturday: 9:30 am – 6:30 pm
  • Sunday: 11:00 am – 6:30 pm

Charge is per day regardless of pick-up/drop-off time for both hotel & daycare.

Why do you not pro-rate hotel stay days or charge by night?

Our hotel service is charged per day since daycare is inclusive. Your dog(s) enjoy our daycare service at no extra charge. By eliminating drop-off and pick-up times, our clients have the ease of being able to pick up and drop off at their convenience within our store hours. Additionally, we book to capacity per day to maintain the intimate, boutique nature of the hotel.

What does dog grooming include?

Professional dog grooming services include a wash, blow-dry, hair brushing, nail trim, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression by a professional and skilled dog groomer.

Can I pay for my hotel days with my daycare pass days?

Daycare pass days are non-transferable.

What is your hotel cancellation policy?

All hotel stays require a 50% non-refundable deposit. Full credit can be applied in-house if at least 14 days’ notice is given from the arrival date, 50% credit if 8 days, and no credit can be applied if the stay is canceled less than 7 days from the arrival date.
